Gilbert Kieffer believes that art resides in the delicate balance between technical mastery and profound spiritual resonance – the ultimate expression of human existence.
Gilbert Kieffer is a multi-talented French philosopher and painter, born in Strasbourg, France in 1953. Throughout his life, he has lived in countries around the world to explore different cultures and artistic techniques which fuel his creative genius. In 1988, he crafted an ambitious exhibition installation called “The Apocalypse” at Reunion Airport - a polyptych expression of 21 paintings adorning a three-ton support structure. Gilbert also incorporates petroglyphic representations and digital art into both philosophical theories and 3D projections featured in his artwork. His accomplishments have been recognized by the French government with two Palms awards from the Academics in 1999 and 2006 – a distinction famously created by Napoleon Bonaparte. With the effects of globalization evident in his portfolio, Gilbert Kieffer continues to inspire all who discover him with his astute vision.
Convinced of the importance of the delicate balance between technical brilliance and spiritual resonance, Gilbert asserts that acknowledging and embracing this vision will shape the essence of art in both the present and future.
